We bought 2 sleep essential beds 5 years ago now.  My husband bought one first.  I was skeptical of an internet bed I couldn't try out.  I had a very bad back and it was hard for me to get comfortable on most mattresses.  After trying out his mattress, I was quickly sold and we got a mattress for me.  I was amazed at how the mattress helped my back.  We got two twins that go together to create a king.  His is firmer than mine.  5 years later and we both still love our beds.  They have held thier form.  My back is healed.  We tell others about these mattresses all the time.   I don't think I would ever want to go back to another mattress. Love this matress! Have had it for 8 years and it is like brand new. Never sags and will last for a lifetime. No smell, no chemicals. Only complaint is it's in layers and they shift - top layers move gradually.  Once a month we have to try to get it straighted up and it's heavy. Regardless,  better than any other matress for comfort,  health and worth the $ since you won't need another matress again. We ordered long distance. Lee was knowledgeable.

Highly recommend Sleep Essentials: Lee provided exceptional customer service, answering all our questions, providing tips such as the jersey sheets, (which we had never tried before and we love them!) Oh and the latex pillows… just wow I have struggled with neck pain for years tried so many pillows, that I can’t even keep track and since starting on the latex pillow, I no longer have neck pain or headaches! Amazing! We are used to Sleep Number beds were on bed #2 yet not sleeping great. My husband found one of Lee’s YouTube videos on latex and the benefits of organic latex beds. I gave Lee a call, we discussed, and we ordered the AR2 arrangement. The bed arrived quickly within 5 days(we are in SD), so extremely quick coming from West Virginia! We excitedly put the bed together which was very easy following Lee’s instructional video. We wanted to love it, but it was much firmer than we are used to, our sleep numbers were 30 and 35 on our previous two SN beds. So I called Lee, we discussed options, he asked we give it the 20 days trial. After the 20 days we knew it wasn’t going to work so I called Lee back and let him know. He sent out the AR1 topper without hesitation. We had our new top in a matter of days and we have been getting the best sleep ever since! We cannot say enough about this experience, all the educational videos, shipping, and customer service is top notch, Lee cares enough to personally answer your questions and return calls. After a very frustrating experience ordering an adjustable bed from another online merchant, we had the good fortune to find Sleep Essentials and its owner/founder Lee Carter.  Our order arrived within a week of shipping -- all the way from Virginia to NW Washington state. We got everything assembled and my wife, who's recovering from back surgery, slept comfortably and soundly for in a bed for the first time in over three months. She loves the firmness of the mattress and we’re having fun exploring all the features, including the massage, which we didn’t know was included. Thank you, Lee, for all your patience and consideration: the care and effort you’ve invested in making a superior product is matched only by the personal touch you bring to its marketing and customer service. I did a lot of research online and the more research I did the more confused I got. The mattress world is a very challenging place to navigate. You really don't know what you're getting. Lee's videos were so incredibly helpful and educational. I thought to myself, "I've got to meet this guy," and fortunately, I lived within driving distance of one of his stores. The minute I walked in the store I felt relaxed and at ease. Not only is he a wonderful guy but he really knows his business....and no hard sell. Not like those big mattress stores that do everything they can to get you to buy before you walk out the door. Not Lee, he's not like that at all. He doesn't have to use the hard sell approach. He knows he has a great product. He's honest. There's an unassuming confidence about what he does. The mattresses practically sell themselves. I decided on an AR3 and let me tell you, the first night I slept on it I didn't wake up with a backache and that hasn't happened in years! No kidding....I couldn't be happier. I'm torn writing this review. We purchased our P20 king bed in 2019 from the Raleigh location. First I will say that my husband and I have never woke up in pain, even during 2 pregnancies. It is by far the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on, and can not wait to get home to our bed after traveling. Now for the frustrating parts. The case to our bed broke immediately when we sat down on the mattress after getting it put together. The zipper went flying off because the case was too tight. So for 6 years, I've been pulling the sheet up to pull the case back where it's supposed to sit on the mattress, every day when making the bed. For about 11 months now, the most concerning issue has been happening. There is a STRONG smell coming from the mattress and it is beginning to flake pretty badly. I believe the latex is breaking down. From what I've read, once it starts doing this, it won't stop. I did not expect this, but it makes sense for a natural material to degrade over time. We are having to purchase a new mattress now, the smell is too strong and it is beginning to make our whole room smell odd. It is not overly humid in our home, the bed doesn't receive direct sunlight, and we use all organic cotton bedding. I don't think anything we have done made it disintegrate quickly, I think these mattresses just have a timeline from the day that they are produced. So, while I think latex is a good option, especially for those that wake up in pain, I wish it weren't advertised as lasting so long. We'll be switching to a standard organic mattress, and maybe getting a latex topper that we can switch out at the 4 year mark, before it even has a chance to degrade.
