Our Latex Mattress vs. an Air Mattresses: A Customer’s Review

Understanding Latex Mattresses

Latex supports your body so superior to an air mattress, it’s like comparing a speed boat to a row boat, or a race horse to a hobby horse. But don’t take our word for it, here is a testimonial emailed to us today:

Hello Lee,

Emma and I want to personally thank you for bringing such a great product to the marketplace. Speaking with you, hearing your recommendations, and watching your online videos gave us the confidence to make our decision.

For the past 30 years, we used two different air-mattress-style bed foundations and were happy with them for a long time. But once we began waking up with aches and pains, we knew it was time for a change.

We have to give credit to our son and daughter-in-law who researched your mattresses, bought one, and raved about getting the best sleep they’ve ever had. After their recommendation and your helpful guidance, we now understand why.

We couldn’t be happier, and waking up without aches and pains has made us true believers in your mattresses!

Thank you,

Mike and Emma

Advantages of Traditional Foam Mattresses

It is a common myth that an air mattress conforms to a sleeper. The truth is that air chambers just displace air into the area of the chamber where there is no weight. The consumer attraction to the idea of an air mattress is for selecting your comfort level for each side for each sleeper. So, it is marketed as a solution, but it is such an inferior mattress, it is not a solution at all.

Side-by-Side Comparison: Latex vs Foam

If most of a person’s weight is in the middle and the air displaces, it means it creates a hammock effect, and this destroys back support. Latex on the other hand pushes back where you need push back and absorbs where you need absorption. The result is flat sleeping which is what every spine needs.

Which Mattress is Right for You?

Probably the biggest factor when comparing our latex mattresses to what is really a glorified camping air mattress is the price difference. Our latex mattress is considerably less expensive than most models of air-chamber mattresses. Why pay such a high price for an air mattress topped with cheap plastic foam? Latex is the most durable cushioning material available AND is consider by far more people than any other mattress type as the best sleep surface to have.
